change currency option

Where can I change the currency.

Now I even see the currency $ in the products, I want to change this to Euro. I have already adjusted it there under invoice preferences, but I don’t see where I can change it for the entire TEMPLATE.

If I adjust the (local.currency_code to EURO), the entire system freezes. And I no longer see any invoices.
Where can I find the information that I need to enter for the Euro?
Default it was USD

The currency sign is €. The currency code is EUR. You can get this info from the help info for each field in the Inv Prefs option of the Settings tab.
